Modern-day human Life is full of stress.

Stress stemming from challenging, sometimes misaligned external circumstances and also stress caused by a backlog of unprocessed trauma and emotions. This is dysfunctional. Our bodies and brains aren’t designed for chronic states of stress.

This dysfunction causes nervous system dysregulation. For many humans, chronic stress is what we’ve grown up with, it’s ‘normal’, and it creates a deeply ingrained pattern of dysregulation within our bodies and brains.

Long-term dysregulation causes dis-ease. The stress in our bodies begins to inhibit optimal functioning. We struggle to sleep, we crave sugar and caffeine, our muscles are tense making us more prone to injury, the immune system becomes suppressed or starts attacking its own body, the digestive system begins shutting down, inflammation increases, the reproductive system gets thrown off its natural rhythm, and our cognitive function slowly diminishes until our ability to think clearly and creatively entirely disappears.

This is Surviving Mode and it’s the operating system many humans are stuck in with no real understanding of how to break the pattern.

What is Body & Breath?

Body & Breath is a full and measurable journey from a state of stress, through the midpoint of embodied safety, all the way into FULL ALIVENESS.

Through a sequence of tried and tested body-based and breathwork practices, Body & Breath slowly and systematically de-escalates the nervous system, relaxing the body and restoring peace to the mind.

You can’t NOT experience a shift in how you feel when you engage in these practices.

I can’t emphasise enough how important it is to allow your body and brain to re-pattern itself out of stress and into relaxation and peace. This is where the body can begin healing itself and optimal function of all its systems can start coming back online.

When chronic stress is our modus operandi, relaxation and peace can feel deeply unfamiliar, when actually, they’re our natural state.

The body and brain seek out what’s familiar and reject what’s not. This is a recipe for disaster when what’s familiar is chronic stress!

The process within Body & Breath supports you to become more familiar with relaxation and peace. However, to set relaxation and peace as your new baseline will require consistent practice over time.

This doesn’t mean you’ll never feel stressed again.

On the contrary, Body & Breath will equip you with: the knowledge to recognise WHEN you’re stressed and highly effective tools to actually DO something about it.

Our nervous systems are designed to be stretchy NOT static.

After a period of stress we MUST ensure we take the time we need to properly rest, recover, reflect, and integrate the experience so that our resilience and capacity increase. 

Continual pushing without proper rest and recovery slowly chips away at our resilience and diminishes our capacity which triggers the pattern of chronic stress all over again.

What to expect from the Body & Breath experience:

Extended breathwork practices are POWERFUL shifters of energy. So many of us have a backlog of stuck emotions (e-motion = energy in motion) stored in our bodies, clogging up our systems, and causing internal stress.

The extended clearing breathwork practice can often bring about a monumental emotional release with the experience of unstoppable and seemingly never ending tears.

This is GOOD!

These emotions have been living in your body for years and need to come out. I promise that if you allow them to flow out of you, the tears will eventually stop, and you will feel so much better for it.

A big emotional release like this can often leave us feeling very open, squishy, and vulnerable, which is why we do another extended breathwork practice for rejuvenation. This is a far gentler experience which enables you to integrate all the previous phases of the journey and brings your body back into a state of wholeness

The 4-hour online group experience for those born into female bodies who identify as women is for you if:

  • You can be with uncomfortable emotions without panicking,

  • You’ve done extended breathwork practices before,

  • You have limited monetary means, or

  • You desire an inexpensive but highly valuable guided reset experience.

  • You are worried about holding yourself through any strong emotions that might come through for you in the breathwork practices, or

  • You want to work through a/some specific traumatic experience/s in a non-verbal, body-based way.

Abbie Tagney

For the majority of my Life I was living in a chronic state of stress and didn't even realise it. Over the last decade I've been on a journey to deeply embody a state of safety as my new baseline. Along the way I've picked up various qualifications and modalities. What I offer in Body & Breath is a synthesis of cherry-picked techniques which have been the most effective for me and those I've worked with in giving our bodies and brains the reset they need.
